I'm excited to have three poems published in oil on my mind: a collective art-based inquiry on grassroots approaches to wellbeing, ecology, and loss in the Southwest! This project asks important questions like the following:
"How does ecological degradation in the Southwest affect our lives? How do we respond—even in extreme mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional states—to the warming world around us? How do we create and perpetuate our reliance to oil and gas, to the pharmaceutical industry, and to other entities that may be maddening (and—at times–life-giving) themselves? Whose lives are most affected by the carcinogenic Gulf Coast?" The organizers of this project include the rad Houstonian organizers/artists Yudith Nieto of Tejas Barrios and S Rodriguez of Paraspace Books!
